Office Engineer

Milwaukee, WI • Full-time, Exempt

The Office Engineer provides essential project support services and acts as a key liaison between the field, project management teams, consultants, and clients. This role supports the delivery of design and construction projects by managing documentation, tracking progress, coordinating RFIs and submittals, and ensuring smooth communication throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a foundation in engineering or construction management who wants hands-on experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager with project administration and coordination

  • Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, drawings, change orders, and correspondence

  • Track and log contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material samples, ensuring timely responses

  • Coordinate document control and information flow between project stakeholders, consultants, and client agencies

  • Review construction schedules and assist with progress tracking and reporting

  • Organize and attend project meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items

  • Assist with budget tracking and invoice processing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field

  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure-related roles

  • Familiarity with construction processes, drawings, and terminology

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management software (e.g., Bluebeam)

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and project delivery standards

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or vertical construction projects

  • Prior work with mission-critical environments such as data centers, airports, biotech, or transportation facilities

  • Ability to interpret and cross-reference specifications, submittals, and technical drawings

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with schedules, budgets, and project metrics
