We are seeking a Design Manager to lead the design and documentation process across complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. This individual will oversee design development, manage resources and schedules, and ensure technical accuracy and code compliance. The ideal candidate has deep experience in design and engineering coordination, particularly within public sector or mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate design activities for engineering and construction management projects

• Ensure all deliverables comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and standards

• Supervise and mentor project engineers and designers, providing technical oversight and quality control

• Review construction documents, drawings, and submittals to ensure design intent and constructability

• Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and external consultants to align on scope, budget, and deadlines

• Serve as the design lead in client-facing meetings, technical reviews, and presentations

• Support business development by contributing to proposals, design narratives, and scope definitions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field required

• PE license preferred but not required

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or design management role

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Revit; experience with BIM coordination a plus

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work on-site and attend project walkthroughs and construction meetings as needed

• May require occasional travel to project sites across California
